Lucidworks Signals Beacon Privacy and Security Policies
Privacy and Security Overview
This policy is in effect as of March, 2025. |
To ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory standards, the Signals Beacon follows strict anonymization protocols:
-
IP Address Anonymization
To protect user identity, the Signals Beacon automatically removes the last octet of IP addresses before storing them. This prevents individual identification while still allowing for geographic-level analysis.
-
No Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Collection
The beacon is designed to exclude any personally-identifiable information (PII), such as names, email addresses, or contact details. Only behavioral event data (searches, clicks, cart-adds, and purchases) is collected in an anonymized manner.
-
Session-Based, Not User-Based Tracking
Visitor interactions are tracked through anonymous session identifiers, rather than persistent user identifiers, ensuring that individual browsing habits cannot be directly linked to a specific person.
-
Secure Storage and Limited Retention
Raw signals are stored securely within the Lucidworks Signals Warehouse and retained for up to three months by default. Aggregated insights may be stored longer, but no data ever contains personally identifying data.
-
Configurable Data Collection
Clients have full control over what events and actions are tracked via customizable configurations in our platform. This ensures alignment with privacy policies and compliance requirements specific to their business.
By implementing these privacy-first measures, Lucidworks ensures that the Signals Beacon provides valuable analytics while safeguarding customer anonymity and adhering to global data protection standards.
