# Manage agents

> Preview, edit, and delete Agent Studio agents.

> **Key questions to get you started**
>
> Powered by Lucidworks Agent Studio

After you create an agent, you can preview, edit, or delete it from the **Agents** screen in Agent Studio.

## Preview and test an agent

Preview an agent in Agent Studio to test its responses before you add it to your website.
The preview displays the same component your customers see, using live data from your datasource for the product ID you enter.
You don't need to embed the agent or configure the **Agent Code** section to use the preview.

1. Navigate to Agent Studio, click the **Agents** tab, and then select the agent you want to preview or test.

The agent details display the following sections:

   * **Agent Information**, such as the name, type, and model for the agent.
   * **Agent Preview**, to test whether the responses accurately reflect the information on your website.
   * **Agent Code**, to embed the agent in your web page.

2. In the **Agent Preview** section, enter the ID of a product from your datasource.
The agent loads using the data for that product.
If the product ID isn't found, check the ID and try again.

What the preview displays depends on the agent type:

   * **Product Q\&A** displays the questions and answers generated for the product. Select a question to view its answer.
   * **Conversational Q\&A** opens a chat. Enter questions about the product, including follow-up questions.
   * **Conversational Q\&A FAQ** opens a chat for your questions and displays generated questions a customer is likely to ask.

3. Test the agent's responses and verify they accurately reflect the information about that product.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If the preview reports that no data is available, your datasource is still processing or contains no documents.
> Wait for the initial processing to finish, and then try again.

## Edit an agent

1. Navigate to Agent Studio, click **Agents**, hold the pointer over the agent you want to change, and click the pencil icon.
2. Enter the changes on each screen, clicking **Next** to advance to the next screen, and then click **Exit** on the final screen to save the changes.
3. [Preview and test the agent](#preview-and-test-an-agent) to verify the changes.
If necessary, refine the agent until the returned responses are accurate and optimized.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Major changes to an agent, such as updating the model or changing datasources, generate a new `template-id`.
> The old `template-id` still works, but it may not reflect your changes.
> Update your frontend code with the new `template-id` from the agent's **Details** tab to use the latest configuration.

If your changes generate a new `template-id`, update the `<lw-template>` snippet on your site.
For embedding details, select your agent type in [Configure and deploy an agent](/docs/lw-platform/lw-agent-studio/overview#configure-and-deploy-an-agent).

## Delete an agent

1. Navigate to Agent Studio, click **Agents**, hold the pointer over the agent you want to delete, and then click the trash can icon.
2. Confirm the deletion, and then verify the agent no longer displays on the **Agents** screen.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Deleting an agent is permanent.
> To use a deleted agent again, you must create it as a new agent.
