The business intelligence (BI) module introduces functionality and user interface components to help users gain insight into their data. These features can be used for analysis and reporting where it is necessary to make conclusions about business activity. Some examples of common uses for this module are described below:
Gaining an overview of the 'health' of departments, stores and accounts.
Mining information from a large body of transactions.
Grouping data based on patterns of characteristics which commonly occur together (known as clustering).
While there are processors and components included in this module currently, it is still the focus of development. The aim of this module is to combine advanced analytical methods with rich visual representation, allowing those using it to bring pioneering intelligence to their business, driven by their own search applications.
